I spent mine at the movie theater. Haha.
Now that the holiday season is drawing near, it seems a lot of really interesting movies are coming out.
On Saturday Kerrie and I saw "Coco Before Chanel." I think we were the last two girls in the world to see this film. It opened for us on Friday, but I know it has been playing everywhere else for a while now.
The movie was fantastic, which is not surprising considering Audrey Tautou played the main role. Kerrie and I knew the plot by heart because we have read numerous books ands and seen a few other movies about the fashion legend's life. But the movie still took our breath away.
After the movie, we took a long walk in the woods (out in the country) and then went to a friend's house for dinner.
This photo was taken around 2 a.m. We both were incredibly exhausted, but still managed to look fab. Hehe!
On Sunday my parents
I'm not a big fan of cheesy action films, but I have to admit this movie wasn't terrible. It was visually stunning and the special effects were kind of incredible.
The acting, on the other hand, was not. The screenplay was also a joke. It was the most unrealistic movie I have ever seen in my life, with the worst comedic lines ever.
If you're interested in seeing the world coming to an end or just feel like you want it to, I definitely recommend this film.
Some other films I want to see in the next week: The Blind Side, Men Who Stare at Goats, and Precious.
What movies do you want to see?
I haven't yet seen "Coco Before Chanel", but I'm dying to! Now that I've read your review, I'll definately make it a point to watch it. Thank you!

Yay, looks like I have the privilege of being the first to post. I hope no one beats me to it! :)
ReplyDelete"If you're interested in seeing the world coming to an end or just feel like you want it to..."
You had me laughing my ass off at this line. You kill me Jen!
As for your 2am pic, sorry honey but I'm feeling a major deficiency of fabulousness here. In fact I think it went home to bed before this pic was taken. You guys look wasted, ha ha! It's pretty funny though how you're both so tired but trying to keep it together. So cute. I wouldn't expect anything less from either of you.
Tell Miss Kerrie I say "hi". That is if she isn't still sleeping. :)
Yeah, 2012 looks like another typical action blockbuster (wannabe?), with incredible effects masking a poor script and acting. Sad, 'cause I love Cusack.
As for what movies I want to see? I'm really not sure. You're not going to make me use my tiny man-brain, are you Jennifer?
Oh and as I explained to Leah, I've been pulling a fashion faux-pas this year. I often wear white socks around the house, and when I need to duck outside briefly (to take out the garbage etc.) I slip on my black sandals. Oh baby! Is there anything sexier than a man in white socks and black sandals? Eww!
That's me, your temporary fashion disaster. :)
Doh! Sydney beat me to it! Maybe next time...
ReplyDeleteHow could I have not seen the Chanel movie yet??
ReplyDeleteI saw Men Who Stare at Goats, Couples Retreat and Pirate Radio. The first two were pretty good, but the third was AWESOME. Strongly recommend it!
Doh! And I spelled Sydnie's name wrong (sorry Sydnie). That's it, I'm going to bed.
ReplyDeleteNighty night. :)
I STILL HAVEN'T seen Coco Avant Chanel.. :( I need to see it. I love the photo of you and your friend. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm planning to watch 2012 this week... I'm not that keen on watching it, my kids watched over the weekend and I didn't join them. I was just amused because I heard them talking that the end of the world is so exciting. Ha? So I guess I have to watch it to find out what the heck is exciting about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was reading the comments section, saw Barry with his famous fashion faux pas. Hahaha! @barry, we are not perfect either.
Hey Leah! Maybe not, but when you have it all together it shows!
ReplyDeletei have yet to see the coco chanel movie and i am eager to see it :)
ReplyDeletehave a great lay tomorrow!!
I think I'm the last to see Coco Avant Chanel. Seeing that I haven't even seen it yet. I'll definitely have to put that on my "to-do" list. I really want to watch some of the summer movies, like 500 days of summer!

Sadly, I never get to the theater; so unless a cute boy asks me to see a film, I'll have to wait for these to come out on DVD. :(

Augh! Lucky girl! I wanted to see a movie this weekend, but spent most of it hungover and tired! :o I really still have to see the Coco Chanel movie. I know I've blogged about it to death, but I need to see it for myself. I've been wanting to see Bright Star, which looks so romantic and amazing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't see Coco before Chanel yet, but I am so excited to see it. Audrey is such a favorite of mine. She was fantastic in Priceless. :) Also, I want to see 2012 that movie looks so freaking awesome. I can't wait to see it (I have had the biggest crush on John Cusack for years). :)
ReplyDeleteI'M still dying to see Coco Before Chanel!! I probably won't see it until it comes out on dvd. :''''(

What movies do I want to see? I watch mostly biographies and inspirational movies. So I am constantly on the lookout for things like Shakelton, running on the sun and peaceful warrior.
ReplyDeleteOMG.... these are the movies i want to watch... but have not had the time to..... )
ReplyDeleteMy favourite part of the whole 2012 thing is that the Mayans didn't actually make 2012 the end of the world... they just reset their calendar!
ReplyDeleteAlso: you're wrong. I'm the last girl in the world to see it - still haven't!
http://dreamingspiresandoldcartyres.blogspot.com

Ahh, Coco before Chanel is fabulous! How can one not love Audrey! I think many were disappointed because the Chanel brand didn't play a key role, but I guess they weren't really paying attention to the movie title ;-) I'm not really keen to see 2012... I find all of Roland Emmerich's blockbuster movies to be the same...
ReplyDeleteWow, you covered two great films, I want to see both of them so now that you have said they are good I will have to find out too! You look so pretty with your friend! XO!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Coco Avant Chanel but I have to say An Education is outstanding! Definitely check it out!
ReplyDeletehttp://idlefascination.blogspot.com/
I've been meaning to watch both those movies. Are they any good?

I am so lame, I have yet to watch Coco Before Chanel! Hahaha, I remember seeing the trailer for 2012 in the cinema and actually said rather loudly how rubbish it looked and everyone burst out laughing. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend :)
ReplyDeletethank you for the birthday wishes!
ReplyDeletei am dying to see alice in wonderland .. but it's not out for a few more months :o( it looks amazing!
I have heard 2012 is an amazing movie. It’s still showing here in theaters I can’t wait to see this movie.
ReplyDeleteI hope I’m not mistaken this is the girl on that movie the de Vinci code, Right? Oh! I love her.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you enjoyed the film about Coco Chanel. In France, people didn't really liked it. Too far from her real life. And apparently Audrey Tautou wasn't very realistic. But it's good to know that Coco Chanel is still famous around the world. Great Lady.
