One Direction

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you know there is a British invasion going on. The world has been colonized by blinding hotness and delicious pop beats.

There are five ridiculously adorable boys from England who have taken over the radio waves. They have millions of girls around the world asking themselves, "is it illegal to marry five sexy guys?"

Of course, I'm talking about One Direction.

Since I am a gay guy, cougar, and 14-year-old girl trapped inside of a 20-something female body, I am a huge fan.

These boys are adorable. They do not look like hipster lesbians who play guitars in coffee shops.

They simply look like 20-something guys who should be frolicking on the beach with me. Right now.

I can only hope that the One Direction craze has the world going "Bieber who?" soon.

Let me introduce you to the boyzzz:

Liam (Sexy & Smart)

Paint me! Paint me! With your looooove.

Harry (Hot & Dangerous)

Sigh. He's so bad.

Zayn (Quiet & Mysterious)

He can never seem to find his shirt. It's precious.

Louis (Funny & Adorable)

Awwwwwwww!

Niall (Cute & Irish)

(Hyperventilating)

Anyway, the band would not exist if it had not been for a Pussycat Doll.

The boys were solo contestants on the British version of the X-Factor, but didn't make the cut. Nicole Scherzinger, who was a judge, suggested the boys form a group.

I think they ended up placing third on the show and were immediately signed to a record label afterwards. The rest is history.

Here is the band's fabulous music video:

What do you think of One Direction?

  5. I like them better than that other U.K. band, The Wanted. Is that even what they're called? I hate that, "I'm Glad You Came" song so much!!!!

  7. I've only very recently heard of them, because I do live under a sort of rock sometimes haha. They look like the cast of glee (a good, no, great thing in my opinion)

  9. My husband despises them...and I know a lot of those who don't like them here either. But, I think they are sweet and they have a chance to do what they love, so why not!?! I would appreciate them more if they wrote their own songs and played instruments and didn't get by so much on their looks..I don't like when women are treated that way, so it's not cool for boys either. But..they can sing thankfully :)) x

  11. Hello homosexual man blasting Lady Gaga!

So I'm not really into these guys, or boyish boys like them (I prefer the manly good looks of Mr. Ryan Gosling), but I do think Louis is adorable.

  12. Damn. I guess I have been hiding under a rock. I've got to put my hipster music aside every once in a while...I'm a pop-culture disgrace.

Anyway...if they make Bieber go away, I am ALL for them...

  15. I can't. I can't possibly comment on this post without hurting and offending masses of American women who I will argue are old enough to know better than falling for a rejected manufactured British group that will probably burn out before the year’s end.

I can't stand One Direction or The Wanted, but then again, I guess I'm not really meant to like them. It's such a shame Britain cannot export something better, musically at least, to the US.

It's strange how young girls are wired to adore boys, yet boys of the same age don't have girls figured in their day; at least not till much later.

I wonder how Morrissey will react to your adoration of One Direction? Methinks he will ask you to choose either him or them.

  16. I always think it's quite amazing how they almost didn't even make the xfactor and now they are just so incredible famous. What a story. I like Liam and Niall the most (since he is from Ireland). They are so huge here especially over the weekend when they had a concert in Sydney.
