"Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence."

I'm sorry for the unexpected blog vacay.

I was drowned in work for a while.

And during the past week, I haven't really felt much like blogging anyway.

There is nothing like a tragedy to remind me we live in a world running rampant with complete idiots.

I'm not even talking about the Boston Marathon bombers. That's a given.

I'm talking about the others.

The ignorant. The hateful. The racist.

It breaks my heart every time I hear about a person randomly getting attacked for something that has absolutely nothing to do with them.

Ever since 9/11 my head has been rolling by all the racism bludgeoning our nation.

People being murdered at their place of worship. A place that is supposed to be the most sacred and safest of all. A sanctuary.

Women being physically assaulted and verbally humiliated in front of their young children.

Men being pushed in front of subway trains.

And then there are the people who make things worse simply by being on the internet.

You see, innocent people, who had absolutely nothing to do with last week's bombings, had their names dragged through the mud because of twitter rumors which got retweeted by the thousands.

Everybody wants to be famous. They all want to be the first important person to relay the "breaking news" on twitter. Without checking the facts. And in doing so, they destroy lives.

A careless click of a button might not mean anything to you. But to the person you're accusing of being a terrorist, it means their entire world. It means you have changed their future because you are linking their name to terrorism forever. You can't erase who writes about you on the internet. That shit stays with you for life. No matter how spotless you remain in the end.

Finally, there are the people who are simply, for a lack of a better word, stupid.

They don't bother to read the news. But they have opinions, dammit!

I'll leave you with a quote I recently overheard at the movie theater this weekend.

The man was talking to his wife.

"Well, you knew it was going to be the Muslims. They're all after us. But I really thought there was a chance they were gonna be from North Vietnam. Those idiots were supposed to nuke us last week!"

  3. Can't believe someone said that...wait actually I can believe it...we are in a world of stupid. There are people in this world that are so behind the times, it's sick. We judge a whole group of people by one person's actions..and it's wrong. There is very little tolerance these days simply because some choose to put everyone in one box instead of looking at the individual. We have gotten it all wrong. I wish there was a drug to help stupid, since there seems to be a drug to cure most things these days. We've just got to keep on doing the best we can and stand up against the bad things in the world!! There is still hope :)

  4. How about the five yr old girl who gets brutally raped? Or the children that go missing and the police don't even search for them? The girls/women being sold into slavery or the sex industry? I can go on and on. People DO need to rd more and open their eyes more. Its not about us or them. Its about protecting the sanctity of humanity. The end. Not about him or her or that group or this one. But all of us. Its so simple yet people complicate it. They make it complicated bc of greed or lust or selfishness or ignorance. I just wish more people would open their eyes and SEE. xox

  5. Tell me about it...

The first person to die immediately following the 9/11 attacks was a man wearing a turban...because...he was wearing a turban.

I don't know if I've told you this on your blog before but I definitely felt the heat after 9/11. Random people, teachers, and peers treated me differently. Some classmates would actually make racist jokes about me (as if I were middle eastern). It just made me sad to think there must be kids all over America who actually ARE middle eastern to get treated like that. In my experience, those are some of the kindest people I've ever met.

I'm tired of this terrorism shit. It seems like every year it's a new threat and a new ethnicity to blame. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING!!! OMGGGG!! Way to turn us all against each other, janet nepolitano. She has literally shat propaganda all over this country. The current president and his admin are also guilty of it.

Notice how they always warn you of a terrorist attack...and then it actually happens just as they described it would? And they always have these drills RIGHT before it happens. Smells like false flag to me!

But enough about that. We all need to focus on LOVE. We are not as bad as the media tells us we are.

It's always darkest before the dawn :)

  6. Jen, I just literally give up. Honestly, nothing surprises me anymore. I don't put anything past anyone. Just when you think you've heard it all, something new comes along. I mentioned on my blog timeline to PRAY FOR SOCIETY. hahaha Because we need it. Truthfully, sometimes I feel I live on a different planet, because there are so many with "issues". Everybody's always praying to heaven. Not that I've seen it ;) but do they honestly think its sectioned off. Blacks, you go to this corner...Whites, you go over there...Muslims, take a left...Jews, take a right...Indians, take the escalator etc etc. :P

  7. And this is why we need real media, not social media.

  8. Everyone needs a break, i was not blogging for a bit too...work load...

I hear your opinions, i guess that attitude from some people will never change, in fact the population grows and there's nothing we can avoid....I am glad that these days we have DOJ to report racial discrimination unlike in the past...

  9. As a freelance writer in the newspaper / magazine world, I can relate to people wanting to be the first to break news; but to do so without checking the facts {and placing innocent people in danger} is simply irresponsible, and shows a lack of journalistic integrity. :/

  10. It is so sad that in an age of information, people choose to remain ignorant (or get their news from ridiculous sources). Well people like you and me just have to instill common sense and hope it catches on.

  11. Thanks for posting this. It absolutely destroys my heart when I hear bullshit like this. Every country has their share of 'terrorists' wreaking havoc for an agenda, yet some religious groups, namely Muslims, receive the brunt of the blame. Hey, the last time I checked, all three major 'terrorist' events occured in the USA last year were heralded by 'white' people. Yet, we don't call white people terrorists, and why should we? One person's action does not reflect an entire race or religion.

The amount of arrogance and stupidity is truly heartbreaking. I remember being in New Orleans last week, where I was sitting in a stranger's house, and how they were all discussing about Obama being the wrong Presidential candidate because he supported Muslims, who are terrorists. As the only Muslim in the room, I wasn't, however, offended. I actually felt pity for these people... Pity that they are brain dead zombies who believe Fox News is the bible, pity because they can't utilize their brain to form their own opinions, pity because they were ignorant and uneducated. I actually felt better.
