Some of you (well, a lot of you) may not know this, but two years ago I was a fashion blogger.
Like, I used to do outfit posts and shit.
I was 15 pounds lighter and I could still fit into my clothes. Plus, I had a job, so dressing up was required.
Well, I haven't weighed myself in a while, but my best guess is that I now weigh close to 600 pounds.
I don't do outfit posts anymore because none of my clothes fit me. And I don't have a real job anymore. I actually spend most of my days wallowing around my apartment building in my boyfriend's Raiders t-shirt and old soccer shorts, drinking Diet Coke and scowling at our neighbors.
But I want to do outfit posts again! It recently occurred to me that the reason I loved doing outfit posts so much wasn't because I'm a vain cow, but because it inspired me to be creative with my style. I found myself emulating interesting ideas from other fashion bloggers. I suddenly became more adventurous, more open-minded when it came to dressing up. Dammit, I had fun!
Well, anyway, I decided to share with you a handful of my old outfit photos. I figured it is appropriate timing since IFBCon is in action right now.
My photos are modest. Don't expect anything fancy or sexy like mega fashion blogger, Chrissy.
Here they are:
What do you think?
yay. i love it. keep them coming.

I think it'sd an excellent idea that you've decided to do outfit posts again. Try and do some walking daily if it's even 30 minutes. Good for the mind, body and so forth. xx
ReplyDeletehahaha - after seeing your pictures, if I had to guess my weight it would be nearly 700 lbs :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are stunningly beautiful with the best hair in blogland.
ReplyDeleteGet outfit posting and regain your confidence. You know we love you and we are all on your side. xxx
You should definitely post outfit photos! You looked beautiful in all of the photos you posted here. What a great motivator to take your photos everyday :)
ReplyDeletei love the second one with the fur vest!

ReplyDeleteEven raiders t-shirts and soccer shorts. :)
That adorable rose / hatbox purse...I must have it!!! Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteAlso - Stacey and Clinton always tell people to dress up, even if they work at home. It helps to motivate you to A) feel good about yourself and B) take care of yourself!! Try it (maybe?) and do style posts from TODAY!
Gorgeous looks, darling!
ReplyDeleteYou are lovely :)
Make this awesome blog your reason for getting dressed up!

ReplyDeleteI love love love the one with the tan fur vest! I keep wanting to buy one of those but I never feel like I'm "cool" enough to pull it off! Keep the pics coming. You might bring out the adventurous stylist in all of us!
ReplyDeleteyou look lovely. love the last one.

YES! I use to love your outfit posts and I am so happy to read you are thinking of starting back up. YAY!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat do I think? I think you got it going on girl. Fashion isn't about dress sizes; it's about style.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a beauty! I'd love to see your outfits. I think I should start posting mine too. Do plaid pyjama pants and my husband's t-shirt count as an outfit? Ha!
ReplyDeleteYou're too hard on yourself at times Ms. Fabulous. I think that somebody with such a grand sense of style as yourself should do everyone a favour by showing them how to dress well.
ReplyDeleteWhy, I was just saying the other day to my sister how people who know how to dress well seem way more splendid in every capacity than those who do not know how to dress well. You my dear fall into the former, not the latter.
I´m missing all yout outfit posts. I remember most of these photos. I love the white coat the most. :)
ReplyDeletep.s. my blog has moved to a new home. :)
well you look fab - I have to admit I cracked up at the line re you mooching round the apartment in an old shirt, drinking diet coke and scowling at neighbors.
ReplyDeleteDoooooo ittt!!! :) :)

Loved these photos- you rock girl - no matter what your weight. I get jitters before every outfit post and I've been doing them for over a year!
ReplyDeleteLove those photos, especially the 3rd one. You have such a gorgeous smile ... Please start doing outfit posts again. Take it from someone who gained 25 lbs and is working to lose them now ... Weight comes and goes. Don't let it interfere with your life :)
ReplyDeleteGayatri
You're a gorgeous 600-pounder. (Silly gal!)
ReplyDeleteI follow a few fashion blogs because I like the pictures and, moreover, the bloggers are nice people (like you). Plus, I'm a walking fashion faux pas and could use the inspiration. Whatever you post, I'll keep coming back.

You are totally gorgeous, and if you don't hold true to your promise for outfit posts, I will punch you in the face.
ReplyDeleteWith love.
P.S. Can I come over and wander around in Aric's football jerseys and scowl at your neighbors with you? That sounds like a good time.

I am sorry you feel down about yourself. But, yes outfit posts are not all about looking skinny and sexy they are about reflecting your own creativity and style. And they motivate you to dress up even when there is no reason to and you feel good about yourself as a result even if it is just to run errands.
ReplyDeleteI know all about not having any 'real' reason to dress up for!
The weight gain => I would suggest you make peace with your body and look for clothes that fit you and compliment your current size. That should make you feel soo much better than trying to fit in your smaller clothes. I did this after my first pregnancy and was so much more at peace with my body then trying to wear my old clothes.
your old outfits were super cute. Hope to see some new ones soon.
Daphne.

you look fantastic in all of them... but my dear, diet coke is terrible for you and gets you all bloated... substitute it with something else like fresh brewed iced tea (any tea) or something that is good for you... take care of yourself!!!
ReplyDeletei definitely think you should start posting your outfits again! keeps us all young :)

I miss your outfit shots now!! You are so pretty!! I love the one in the white dress. It's a gorgeous picture.
ReplyDeleteI spend a lot of time, unemployed, in my baggy t-shirts and sweats, so when I get the opportunity to dress up, I really go for it.
I miss your outfit posts! Please start doing them again! <3

I love you in the second outfit - so seventies fabulous! Start posting outfits again, Jennifer - you look amaze! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually remember an outfit or two from above. I think you should get back into it! Heck you should even do a satirical Chrissy post. LOL that'd be hilarious.
