Jenny and Kerrie's big celebration!

It was the greatest weekend of my best friend's life.

Okay, I might be exaggerating. But we celebrated something that was a long time coming...

Her birthday! I was in Los Angeles when she turned a year older, so we celebrated it last night. I wore my favorite Betsey Johnson dress and Kerrie draped herself in Etro.

First, we started the evening off with a fancy dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant.

We chowed down on goat cheese and roasted red pepper salad and got a little tipsy sipping Mae Wests and Elizabeth Taylors.

Then we skipped over to the Oak Room to con young millionaires into buying us drinks. Unfortunately, two different brides had chosen our favorite hotel jazz lounge as a wedding reception venue. So, we ended up crashing those instead. Instead of young millionaires, we found ourselves faced with dozens of drunk yuppie groomsmen and bubbly blonde bridesmaids. It was dismal.

We drank a couple lovelies and peartinis and left.

We took great amusement in riding up and down the hotel's glass elevator and breathed in the neon lights of downtown from its windows.

(Doesn't Kerrie look demure?)

And then we ran up and down the halls of each floor, knocking on random doors and laughing hysterically and running when people answered them in their hotel robes.

By 1 a.m. the childish amusement subsided and we decided to call it a night.

As we were leaving some gross older men entering the hotel's lobby begged us to come back to the Oak Room for drinks. Then they asked if we were with the bride or groom. We laughed at them (and shuddered because they were so old) and fled back to the downtown nightlife.

But not before I acted like a total dork in front of the hotel fountain.
Sorry about the water drops!

I hope everyone else had a great weekend too!

Beautiful dress. I remember your previous post about when you bought it. That sounds like a very exciting weekend. I would have found the random door knocking hilarious, good for a bit of fun.
