Below is a guest post written by my adorable bestie, Jonny. It chronicles his recent adventure in New York City. Enjoy!
Hi friends of Jennifer Fabulous! I am very honored by Jenny's invitation to write a guest blog about my recent travels to New York! And she ALWAYS spoils me with her posts about our adventures together--including my birthday! Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone!
For those of you who've never been to the Big Apple: what are you waiting for? The theaters, dining -- and for those who are faithful followers of this blog-- the FASHION! It's nothing but fabulous!
Speaking of fabulous, I was a busy boy working and relaxing! I try to have a healthy mix while I'm on vacation! I was able to hit all of my favorite stores while I was in town including Forever 21 Men (Times Square has the largest men's department) and H&M on 5th Avenue. The good news is I didn't do as much damage as I usually do. I only bought a few shirts, ties and gloves!
I saw five Broadway shows including:
It was so nice to be able to see polished shows with really talented people! Unbeknownst to me, one of the people I used to work with back in 1998 is now in Memphis. We talked afterward and he even introduced me to the star of the show, Chad Kimball.
Memphis is one of my all-time favorites but my two new favorite shows are Follies and Sister Act. Follies stars Bernadette Peters and Jan Maxwell, who did wonderfully, but the real stars were Elaine Paige and Rosalind Elias, who is an 82-year-old opera veteran!
Here is Elaine performing "I'm Still Here."
Here is Rosalind performing "One More Kiss" with Leah Horowitz.
Truly great theatre!
You can check out their performances here:

Rosalind
Sister Act featured brand new music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. Here's Patina Miller singing my favorite song, "Fabulous, Baby!" as Deloris van Cartier:
Great shows weren't the only items on the itinerary. I did a photo shoot, which Jenny blogged about, but here are some behind the scenes photos!
I also did some other touristy stuff like going to Rockefeller Center's Top of the Rock observatory and posing for pictures at Battery Park with my friend Maryruth, buying some fabrics at Mood Designer Fabrics (like Project Runway) with my cousin Katie, and eating at a vegan restaurant and Junior's Deli.
Fortunately I got out of there before the earthquake and Hurricane Irene, but I hope to be back very soon! Can't help being fabulous!
