I'm not getting hitched any time soon, thank god.
But I have a couple friends who are walking down the aisle this summer. And with all the bridal showers and bachelorette parties, it is hard to ignore the wedding fever that seems to be taking everyone over this season.
I actually don't want to get married, but if someone forced me, I think my favorite part of planning the ceremony would be choosing the dress.
This year, it seems like Prince William's bride, Kate, has set the trend. Everyone wants that sleek, simple, and elegant gown she wore during the Royal Wedding.
But while I thought the dress was stunning, it would just look ridiculous on my short, curvy frame. Plus, I have a more...extravagant sense of style.
So, after several hours of browsing the internet (much to the horror of my father and boyfriend) I came across a few dresses I wouldn't mind saying "I do" in.
Here are my choices:

This gown has Jennifer Fabulous written all over it. In fact, it is actually a crime that I am not wearing this gown right now. I should be arrested.

The gold and white two-tone give this gown a majestic feel. This is a wedding gown fit for a queen.

This is the ultimate big poofy princess bridal gown. Plus, all the layers of tulle on the bottom would help my upper body seems so much more thin!

My dream is to find a vintage wedding gown. This one is absolutely perfect.

This is very simple and elegant. It is so not me. But I'm in love with it.

If you're a dedicated reader of my blog, you already know I'm bat-shit nuts. So it shouldn't surprise you that I would TOTALLY wear this fairy dress down the aisle.

Why would I wear this random Indian bridal sari to my wedding? Because I could get away with it. And let's face it, I would look like a total bad ass.

A spring wedding with a garden tea reception? Yes, please.

If I was six feet tall and a size 0, I would purchase this dress in a heartbeat. Even if I wasn't getting married. I would just stand in front of the mirror in it ogling myself every day.
So, what do you think of the dresses I chose? Would you wear any of these? What is your ideal wedding gown?

i think you'd look awesome in a sari. and that first dress is amazing--i would totally wear that like the entire week of my wedding.
I love the second gown a lot ... I think you would look awesome in a saree too!

I'd go for the Indian gown, it's crazy, beautiful and over the top and you would lookfabulous in it. x
Lol...you're hilarious! I love looking at wedding dresses. Isn't it fun?
These are my top 3 favorites: The first one, the Indian one, and the very last one.

lovely dresses - i would def wear the second one, the "fairy" one and the last one!!! ohh they're soo pretty!
jos xx
I went with a very safe dress at my wedding, and as much as I love it, I wish I would have been a little more courageous with my choice. If I could pull of a sari, I TOTALLY would have. If you get married you can have wardrobe changes!
They're all gorgeous, but I'm traditional: I want white dress! It can be different in other ways but it has to be white :D

absofuckinglutely
I would TOTALLY wear that sparkly fairy dress - either that or a simple Vintage dress.
Maybe both. ;)
oh my Goodness... the second and last gowns are absolutely amazing!!! But just like u... I'm not getting hitched soon either haha :)
The trick is to do the obsessive dress hunting when the boys aren't looking, silly.
I have so many picked out it would freak. them. out. I don't want to be married right now, I just love weddings. Gowns especially.
You, my dear, are definitely a Panina bride.
you've got a lot of variety! I thought I wanted a big puffy wedding dress... then I tried that style on and it wasn't working. But I love my dress... and I'm sure one day you'll have a blast trying on all types of crazy styles!
XOXO
If I where 6ft tall and a size 0 I would totally own that dress and wear it around the house too! I love love love that poofy princess dress. Maybe the fairy one could be the inspiration for your bridesmaid dresses?
beautiful!
Ohh I love wedding gowns..I like the third one...though I can TOTALLY picture you on that multicolored fairy tale gown haha...I´m just laughing so much imagining the face of your boyfriend as you were looking wedding gowns haha

I love the look of big princess-style dresses but think I'd be overwhelmed by one... I'll probably end up with a slimmer shape. But I love your picks, especially the first one!

Love the third dress but my favourite is the coloured dress. It is amazing! I would totally get married in that too. Even though I went for a more traditional wedding dress I did consider a few different ideas like red and another dress that was black with white polka dots. So I'm open to those fun ideas too.
I know what you need... the wedding fress from the end of Coming to America! Jennifer Fabulous: Princess of Zamunda!
GIVE ME THE FAIRY DRESS. The multiple colors speak to me. Besides, I'm having a jellybean-themed wedding -- IT'S PERFECT.
Mr. A already wants to wear a gold tux to the wedding ..

You have wonderful taste and would look stunning in any of these. We are alike, my friend. I looked at vintage style wedding dresses for months before my now ex-husband proposed. Just after we got engaged, I haphazardly stepped into an antique shop and found the perfect, most gorgeous dress. Like you, I'm short and curvy, so the Victorian era thing worked. (I guess women were shorter and curvier back then. ??) Best part: it only cost $200. Tell me if you ever need help with the search. ;~>

I love how awesomely ostentatious some of these are - perfect!

I love number three, five, and seven! I'd put them on in a second.
Love your blog :)

wow - if/when you do get married, I cannot wait to see what you pick out. your style is fantastic and original.
so many dresses...only 1 wedding...right? lol. i am all in weddings too- 5 weddings from july-oct. and im in 3 of them!
Great choices! I love the second from bottom -- very '50s inspired. xo style, she wrote
I love the first dress. Finding the perfect vintage dress would be the best though! I don't want to get married either, but I can't help but feel cheated out of a gorgeous gown.

re your comment: thanks for telling me about the audio. i think i've fixed it; it should be a real man (creepy wink) now.
Hey beautiful,
So enjoying this post... I've also got friends walking down the aisle next year and this year so cannot wait to see what my friends have picked!

All my friends are starting to get married these days as well! I'm not planning on getting married anytime soon either, but I love looking at wedding dresses. That second one is gorgeous!
I love the choices, and I would wear them, especially the sleek and elegant one. My wedding dress would be classic and sleek and not too over the top, maybe mixed in with a bit of lace.

i loooove the fifth one!

Number one, number one, number one! Seriously, that is the dress I want to be married in someday. GORG!! :)
love the simple elegant one best. i hope it becomes you.
Ok I can tell that you are the TOTAL princess gown lady! The corset top and full skirt are of course too awesome.
My reception gown was like the lace one - classic and elegant and I tied it with a gold sash (reused at my Taiwan dinner complete with a crystal brooch!) My ceremony gown was a vintage masterpiece - lace sleeves, fitted sweetheart top and an awesome train.
I was a crazy 2 dress bride but a great shopper so both dresses were still less than the cost of one.
Ok obviously I love wedding gowns. Go for it. It is the funnest part of wedding planning. The other stuff is not as pretty.

i used to want Vera Wang tulle gown but now I am not sure if i even want a wedding dress at all. : )
Interesting choices! I've never liked wedding dresses and how they look- if we get married I'll probably end up wearing some ridiculous fabulous gown in sapphire blue or something. Nowhere near a church :)
I like the fifties-style shorter tea length gowns you found- they look like audrey hepburn would wear them.
ohh wedding dresses, I tried on one a while ago and it was so pretty I didn't want to take it off. I think you would look great in the 2nd one, hmm the saree would be neat too if you have a destination wedding!
just found your blog
love it!
Check out my new post.: Lost sommer
Would love to have you as a follower.
nice - but too much of a girly post for me to coherently comment, lol
I love all of these dresses, but really the first one is my favorite.
Of course, right? The top looks like a corset...
I love that most of these gowns have a sexy appeal, I don't see that very often, ie the see through lace in parts! ;)
Matter of fact I have that multi-colored dress on my Pinterest and i would SO wear that as my wedding dress. Gorgeous.
cheap wedding dresses is one sensible idea for modern new couples in that wedding dresses are going for the trend of low price. Have an full understanding of prices of wedding dresses, then the bride will be allowed to choose suitable cheap wedding dresses. Then, brides are able to enjoy beautiful wedding dresses as well as sweet wedding memories. and also the cheap wedding dresses and also good product its sure ....but stock is very low so quick and purchase them.....
Hi
great post. I love all of her dresses, very unique! My bridesmaids and I are actually going to look at wedding dresses in Burlington this weekend in hopes of finding that perfect dress

All the dresses are really very gorgeous, it's very difficult to select any one. This is very common these days, there are so many wedding dresses in so many colors available in market that we easily get confused, which one to purchase. Those who are oversize they must be very careful while selecting dress for their wedding day because a wrong selection will become a bad memory for their life time. So, just be very careful and make your special day a most special memory for your lifetime. Oversize bride can wear Plus size wedding dresses.
